After a whirlwind fall and holiday season, it is great to be home, ready to work through various projects and challenges. This is going to be quite a year. Mainly due to the fact that my husband and I are expecting!
We found out the beginning of October and that, in addition to some other crazy news (more on that later), plus getting ready for the holidays (because of course I decided to make presents this year), made for a rather wild ride. I wasn’t expecting to be pregnant (although was hoping for it) due to a previous negative test, so when the one a few days later was positive, I’m pretty sure I had a deer-in-headlights look. All focus was lost. In fact, I’m surprised we remembered to eat dinner at all that night. After a chunk of weeks feeling not-so-great, things improved before the end of the first trimester and I’ve been feeling pretty good since. Just eating all. the. time.
My head is currently overflowing with just the beginnings of preparing for a nursery, fun baby items, clothing, things to make. I have the usual first-time parent thoughts of how I can make everything, including baby foods. I’m also familiar with how cranky I am on little sleep. : ) So we are excited about this new adventure in our lives and meeting the little bun sometime around June 21.
