Weddings have become more fun and interesting lately as people add those personal touches that make it reflect their personality and the things important to them. Our wedding was in a barn, with wild flowers and paper airplanes to throw as we exited. I loved it. When I was thinking through the possibilities of what to create with the retired turnout gear I had, firefighter weddings came to mind. The brown canvas of the gear is a perfect neutral color to use as an accessory. So I created a bow tie for the guys and a couple clutches for girls. The flower on the right clutch is made from the water barrier of the retired gear. The white accent and monogram can be done in any color to match the wedding colors. A fun and classic way for those connected with fire fighting to incorporate that aspect of their lives in their wedding day. Also a good idea for groomsmen and bridesmaid gifts – it can be so hard to come up with something creative for those! All are available at my etsy shop.
